Union County Renewable Energy Committee Meeting
October 28, 2008 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
On October 28 at 6pm in the County Commissioner’s room of the Joseph Building, the Union County Renewable Energy Committee will host Carel DeWinkle from the Oregon Department of Energy. The meeting is open to the public and will be a chance to listen and engage in dialogue about renewable energy in Union County and rural Oregon.
Mr. DeWinkle will be talking about the importance of renewable energy tax incentives. He will also address the Community Renewable Energy Feasibility program, which provides grants for feasibility studies on “community renewable energy projects.” One of the selection criteria for funding is that a project offer a “clear and direct benefit to [the] local community.” Click here for more information on the program.
There is much interest in this program on the part of the County and this would be an excellent opportunity for Oregon Rural Action members to weigh in with their thoughts and to work closely in partnership with the County to advance community-scale renewable energy development.
