Last March the Farm to School Task Force organized a workshop highlighting multiple Farm to School Programs in Oregon. This year we want to highlight local projects.
We were hoping to take workshop participants on a trip to see a local farm that sells to multiple school districts, as well as host a cider pressing at the North Powder School Garden to allow school representatives to network with local farmers and highlight the changes that the North Powder program has made as part of their Farm to School Program. The original goal date was October 21st.
Unfortunately, the whether has turned cooler a bit sooner than we expected and there is concern about having such a large component of the workshop be outside. We have to make a choice about how quickly we can plan a successful workshop, and what components are the most important.
The meeting will be at 10 am at the Ag Services Building 10507 N McAlister Rd, Island City. Please contact Teresa at teresa@oregonrural.org or 541-975-2411 or Andi at andi@oregonrural.org
