On May 24th, Northeast Oregon Economic Development District is hosting a workshop featuring information on marketing, licensing and current food regulation.

Jennifer Chacon, Health Inspector in Wallowa County; and Rusty Rock, Oregon Department of Agriculture, will present information and answer questions about sale of local food products in retail, farm direct, or farmer’s markets. If you have processed or baked foods, catered foods, eggs, dairy, cheese, meat or produce to sell, this workshop is for you.

The workshop will include ways to analyze your competition, as well as new information on the free online food directory FoodHub and information on MarketLink, a free market research service.

The workshop will be held Tuesday, May 24th from 6 pm to 9 pm at Community Connection in Enterprise. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $30. Scholarships are available. To preregister, or for scholarship information, contact Sara Miller at 541 426 3598, or saramiller@neoedd.org.

The workshop is part on an ongoing effort to support the growth of local food businesses and to strengthen the connections between farmers/ranchers, consumers and communities.
