Internationally respected speaker Nicole Foss ("Stoneleigh" of http://theautomaticearth.blogspot.com/) will be presenting a lecture titled "A Century of Challenges" at 7 pm on May 29, 2011 at the Badgley Hall, Huber Auditorium on the EOU Campus, K & 6th St, in La Grande. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Foss, an expert on energy issues, warns that Peak Oil and the rising costs of energy will soon lead to a severe financial crisis, which she believes could be much worse than the recession of 2008. In her lecture, Foss explains how we can all be better prepared for this crisis by creating a new localized economy and stronger neighborhood bonds -- the life preservers that will make all the difference during the coming economic storm.
The presentation is being sponsored by the EOU Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) club. Co-sponsors are Grande Ronde Transition and Oregon Rural Action. For more information visit http://granderondetransition.com/
