You can help support a healthy local food system?

BerriersWhat can you do to support a healthy local food system?

  • Shop at your local farmers’ market - Baker City, CoveLa GrandeEnterprise & Joseph, Hermiston and Pendleton
  • Look for locally grown products at the grocery store - request them if they are not available.
  • Purchase locally grown beef, chicken,eggs, pork and lamb from people in Northeast Oregon
  • Eat at restaurants that serve locally grown foods - Ask or check the menu. 
  • Grow your own veggies at home or in Community garden
    • “Plant a Row for the Hungry” and donate to your local food bank. 
  • Join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
    • Buy a share and receive fresh produce throughout the season!
    • If there isn't a CSA in your community, help start one.
  • Educate yourself and your kids about where your food comes from - Take advantage of opportunities to visit local farms.
  • Support organizations that work to strengthen our local food supply.
